The very word carries an ahhhhh...
An eease ...
A letting go.
I don't know about you, but I want more of it!
I want to pile EASE on to my very experience. I want to wallow in it. Saturate my life in it.
I want to capitalise it. EASE !!!! E.A.S.E.
What is EASE?
What does it look like?
TAKE A REST
EASE is noticing when you're starting to tire and take a rest.
It's building regular nap time, just 10-20 minutes, into our day a few times a week.
SAVOUR AND ENJOY
EASE is cultivating the habit of savouring small experiences. We stop and notice a smile, or some minor achievement.
It's noticing birdsong. Or laughter and chatter.
The little (big) things in life.
Seeing what's in front of you (try that now ... surprised?)
As the saying goes, "the small things are the big things."
EASE is greatly enhanced by a regular silent-sitting practice early in the day. Greatly, hugely enhanced.
It might be formal meditation practice ... or deliberate, cultivated quiet time with a cup of tea in front of your favourite view.
By stretching the body to iron out the kinks of tension. Wonderful.
EASE is supported by learning how the brain and nervous system are hard-wired to keep us testy. And what to do about it.
A straightforward way to get to EASE is via the age-old roadmap of mindful awareness techniques.
We can put EASE at the centre of our life ... And build our busyness and goals around it.
There's all sorts of ways of going about finding EASE.
