The purpose of yoga is to stretch, open and expand our physical boundaries. |
“I recommend Shakti’s class. Slow and steady with an emphasis on mindfulness and listening to your own body.” - Eliza, Kyogle
Yoga has sooo many benefits … And so many of those benefits can come from very little exertion. Improved posture is one of them. In each class we check into Posture in the standing section, noting alignment of shoulders/hips/knees/ankles. We lengthen the spine by sending the crown of the head skyward and the feet into the floor. Just by standing in this way, with the weight evenly balanced on both feet, the skeletal system assembles and strengthens … without even moving! Good posture relieves soreness, lifts energy and lessens fatigue, because strengthened muscles and ligaments make it less of a struggle to keep the body balanced and upright. Come along to Yoga at the Bloore St Seniors Hall on alternate Mondays, 4pm to 5.15pm. Shakti teaches a relaxed style of yoga accessible to all. Her approach is grounded in the needs of everyday life. Gentle and more powerful stretches alternate with frequent rests to balance the nervous system and revitalise internal organs. Come away feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Suits all ages and body types. No previous yoga experience necessary. READ MORE Yoga Has Many Benefits Why I love yoga: Tall Mountain Beginners Yoga Booklet More about the Beginners Yoga Booklet here
